Course Description

This intensive three-day course provides the foundational knowledge required to pass the PeopleCert-accredited ITIL® 4 Foundation Certification Exam and offers a comprehensive introduction to modern IT Service Management (ITSM).

Participants will gain a working understanding of the ITIL 4 framework, which redefines service management through the Service Value System (SVS). The course emphasizes how ITIL 4 integrates with Lean IT, Agile, and DevOps to align IT operations with business value creation and organizational strategy.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Compare ITIL v3’s lifecycle model with the new ITIL 4 SVS structure.

  • Describe the seven Guiding Principles of ITIL 4.

  • Explain the Service Value Chain and its key components.

  • Identify the four dimensions of Service Management.

  • Recognize the 34 ITIL practices, focusing on the 15 covered in the ITIL 4 Foundation exam.

  • Understand how Lean, Agile, DevOps, and Organizational Change Management contribute to business value delivery.

Prerequisites

No formal prerequisites. A general understanding of IT and IT services is helpful.
This course also serves as the foundation for pursuing higher-level ITIL 4 certifications.
